New shoppers car park in time for Christmas shopping 2002

This competition winning design will provide the shoppers in the centre of Harrogate with much-needed additional car parking space before the end of 2002.

The building, which takes up the whole of a difficult, steeply-sloping tight site was required to embrace “classical” lines with facing brickwork, vertical emphasis, and a fully-enclosed top parking deck masked by tall parapet walls.

The whole of the structure, including the brickwork, is a series of precast concrete panels allowing a fast track construction period to achieve an official opening by the end of 2002.
