Lower Banister St Car Park, Southampton

This competition-winning design will provide much-needed parking space in the centre of Southampton

Pulmann’s design for this new multi-storey car park in the centre of Southampton was the winner of a Design & Build competition last year.

The client, Southampton City Council, required that the building must be designed to a high standard and should not look like a multi-storey car park.

Facing brickwork with feature horizontal banding adorns all facades with a vertical emphasis created by full-height ventilation openings with decorative metal grilles. All parapets incorporate stone copings and the lift/stair towers have slated roofs and clear glass curtain wall panels.
